Indigenous Games Announces SIGA as Sponsor
The Regina 2014 North American Indigenous Games (NAIG) Host Society is pleased to announce that the Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority (SIGA) is now a Nova Platinum level sponsor of the Games this coming July.
Glen Pratt CEO of Regina 2014 NAIG says “We are proud to have SIGA as a major sponsor because of their commitment to building healthy communities and creating leadership opportunities for Indigenous youth. These are the values that we will be showcasing this summer in Regina with the generous support of SIGA”.
SIGA Board Chair, Tribal Chief Felix Thomas is quick to note that SIGA is interested in participating in positive and impactful activities for our youth.
“SIGA also strives to deliver sustainable net income and employment opportunities to support First Nations development in Saskatchewan. As a steward for SIGA I am proud of our success as a First Nations owned and operated company, and of the opportunities it affords us. We are able to share our success in local communities across Saskatchewan”.
Zane Hansen, President and CEO of SIGA sited, “As a First Nations company one of our founding principles has always been to give back to the communities where we live and work. This past year alone SIGA invested $1.6M back into our provincial communities. We are especially proud to support an event like NAIG and we encourage other organizations to get involved in this international event, which showcases and supports our youth.”
Regina 2014 NAIG will host the athletes and teams from 26 regions in North America’s Indigenous communities as they compete in 15 different sports. It will celebrate and share North American Indigenous cultures through a showcase of language, tradition, art, song, dance and ceremonies. The theme of the Regina 2014 North American Indigenous Games is “Raising the Bar” and we will do this by exhibiting youth excellence in sports and culture.
