101st Grey Cup Pre-Game: Sask Roughriders vs Hamilton Tiger-Cats
Regina, SK – After a week of parties and celebrations during the 101st Grey Cup Festival – the biggest game of the year finally got under way in front of over 40,000 fans here at Mosaic Stadium. The Saskatchewan Roughriders and the Hamilton Tigercats meeting in the Grey Cup Final for the first time since that memorable 1989 Grey Cup game, where the Riders beat the TigerCats 43-30.
But before the kick off, the opening ceremonies featured mounties from the RCMP bringing in the Grey Cup while Saskatoon’s Sheep Dogs performed to get the mostly green crowd hyped up for the game. Also Serena Ryder Rider sang Canada’s National Anthem and right near the end the snow birds flew by creating a roar in the crowd felt in the press box. More updates coming
