Indian Horoscopes: August – The “Dog Days of Summer” Edition
JANUARY Kisê-pîsim – The Great Moon – Deer
Quit offering your partner the “privilege and the honour” of pulling out your ticks for you! Pull those nasty buggers off yourself and then help your partner pull of theirs! And do it before going to bed otherwise you’ll just be trading bugs all night… and you don’t want that!
FEBRUARY Mikisiwi-pîsim– The Eagle Moon – Eagle
Bingo has been calling your name for the past two weeks but you’ve been resisting the urge because it interferes with your pow wow dancing! I tell you it’s a tough call but you might want to hit up that old bingo shack for just one night. Leave your snagging blanket at home and pick up your dabber bag and your best friend!
MARCH Niski-pîsim – The Goose Moon – Cougar
Just because you can eat Indian tacos all day doesn’t mean you should buddy. Take some time to ingest some fruits and veggies trays, maybe some lemonade to go with it – that’d be handsome. Kids look up to you, you have a responsibility to be the healthiest example you can be to them.
APRIL Ayikî-pîsim – The Frog Moon – Beaver
Going all “lion king” on your phone isn’t going to improve the reception (holding up your cell phone like Simba being held up and presented to the herd). The loved ones who are trying to get a hold of you are getting disappointed, you keep using the crack in the your screen as an excuse not to text back. You better face it, times have changed and you have to get with them – its time for a new phone.
MAY Sâkipakâwi-pîsim – The Budding Moon – Bear
Fall is coming and you need money to make your star blankets to sell! Don’t you worry though your best friend is going to come and take you to bingo right quick! People always buy your star blankets because you only use that good quality material and not that cheap stuff that falls apart after one wash. Keep it up!
JUNE Pâskâwihowi-pîsim – The Hatching Moon – Thunderbird
Every since they opened that new Tim’s its been like a dream come true for you! But now that your pee is starting to hurt you may have to use some moderation with your coffee intake. I mean, 6 cups is a lot for anyone even a hardcore Tim lover like yourself. Reduce the Tim’s, increase the water – you’ll be glad you did.
JULY Paskowi-Pîsim – The Moulting Moon – Coyote
Quit trying to pimp your ride! Those mags are already getting dinged up on the washboards and your home tinted windows are bubbling in the sun! Rethink your priorities and spend more coin on your little family. That’s the investment you’ll appreciate and actually make an impression with.
AUGUST Ohpahowi-pîsim – The Flying Up Moon – Mouse
Don’t forget school is coming for you and your little ones. The older they get the more they are going to need in terms of supplies. But monetary needs aside, they need your support and encouragement and approval to feel validated. Just because your parents were stand-offish, it doesn’t mean you need to be. Hug them.
SEPTEMBER Nôcihitowi-pîsim– The Mating Moon – Salmon
Politics and summertime BBQ’s go hand in hand, shaking hands, kissing babies, talking to people about who you are and what you want to do all go a long way to building your reputation. But don’t forget it isn’t what you’ve done that people want to hear about, it’s what you’re going to do that will get them excited.
OCTOBER Pinaskâwi-pîsim – The Migrating Moon – Turtle
Volunteerism isn’t a lost art if you decide to take up the cause. Cultural camps, pow wows, in town cultural days all need a steady stream of volunteers to make their events a success. Often it isn’t the volunteers who benefit directly but rather the elders of the communities and the youth, both appreciate and remember your work.
NOVEMBER Iyikopiwi-pîsim – The Frost Moon – Wolf
Travel is always a great way to spend your summer, all the pow wows, berry picking, visiting with family, beaching, camping and doing new exciting things! Don’t forget to take some time for yourself, read a book, go for a walk, think about your own future and what you want out of life. Make great plans, you are more than able.
DECEMBER Pawâcakinasîsi-pîsim – The Frost Exploding Trees Moon – Spider
Always trusting, giving, and concerned. That’s the way you were taught to be and no amount of abuse, rip offs, or being used is going to change that. If people need your help you are going to be there, but please do consider holding back a small bit for yourself. This giving until it hurts is starting to hurt and you need to be healthy in order to keep helping others.
