Regina Walk Held to Remember Missing & Murdered Aboriginal Women
Regina, SK – On Friday, February 14th was the Street Work Advocacy Project’s 4th Annual Gathering and Walk to remember those who have gone missing or were murdered in our city. Close to 50 people met at Dewdney and Montague’s Angel Park over the noon hour and marched across the city.
Many in attendance held signs asking “Where is My Daughter?”, “Where is My Sister?”, “In Memory of” and “Stop Racism”. Also that night, a round dance was held at the Gathering Place in honour of those who have gone missing or passed on under violent circumstances.
Hopefully, there will be a day when we no longer have to have such marches and our loved ones come home to a safe community, without fear, without prejudice and with only love.
Happy Valentine’s Day.
