Grammys Album of the Year – Daft Punk “R.A.M”
For those of you who question why France duo Daft Punk won the Grammy for Album of the Year over Kendrick Lemar, Sara Bareilles, Taylor Swift, and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, you have to first listen to “Random Access Memories”.
In today’s age of EDM (Electronic Dance Music) filled with more favoured club sounds of dub step and hard house infused with hip hop, it’s hard to find an artist or artists that can slow it down and keep things in motion like Daft Punk does.
Random Access Memories does exactly that. From hit songs meant for mainstream like, “Get Lucky” (which also won record of the year) and “Lose yourself to Dance” (both featuring Pharrell) to other favourites like, “Georgio by Mordorer” and “Touch” that display more of Daft Punk’s signature sound, it’s an album like no other.
But in order to really appreciate R.A.M. you should take an hour and listen to it from beginning to end. So while you’re checking your facebook, twitter, reading articles, check out this album, you won’t forget it, nor regret and you will understand why R.A.M. was definitely the Album of the Year.
