My name is Mercedes Redman, I am a Grade 12 student at F.W. Johnson Collegiate. This fall, I will be taking the Indian Communications Arts (INCA) Program at the First Nations University of Canada (FNUniv). For the next five weeks, I will be interning at RezX. In the duration of my time here at RezX, I hope to be able to gain experience and knowledge in the field of video and journalism. I am looking forward to writing my own blog, assisting in behind the scenes work of RezX, and learning how to improve and become a better journalist for the future.

During my first week at RezX/IndigenX, I was able to learn many new things including filming with DSLR cameras and online blog posting. This week, we filmed Joe Naytowhow at Wascana Lake regarding child welfare. In this time I learned how to record audio, visuals, and how to film outdoors in sunlight and shadows. I also learned how to post videos online to our social media pages. Most recently I was able to film around Wascana Lake and discover the camera and how to take photos. Check out my Wascana Lake photo gallery!
