SURVEY; Hey RezX Readers, how would you feel being in a Romantic Relationship with a White Person?
In response to a recent survey, which asked Canadians a variety of questions on Aboriginal people and ethnic minorities, RezX decided to do our own and ask our Indigenous readers the same questions, but changed only the words ‘Aboriginal’ to ‘white people’.
The recent survey conducted by an Environics Research Group poll was done for CBC News and found that respondents living on the prairies showed lower comfort levels when dealing with Aboriginal people and other ethnics.
In the story that CBC ran, it listed some of those responses and found that only 43% would be Very Comfortable “being in a Romantic Relationship with someone of Aboriginal Background”. This survey has since sparked some interest and controversy among Indigenous people on social media saying it only reveals a racist attitude that already exists on the prairies.
So we at RezX are asking specifically our Indigenous readers to answer 5 quick questions about how they feel about their white counterparts, to see if their responses are the same?
Once we get a good amount of feedback, we will post the results shortly.
